The finalists for WashingtonExec’s Pinnacle Awards were announced Oct. 11, and we’ll be highlighting some of them until the event takes place live, in-person Nov. 30.
Next is Cybersecurity Industry Executive of the Year (Private Company) finalist Joe Logue, who’s CEO of Two Six Technologies. Here, he talks key achievements, primary focus areas going forward, proud organizational moments and more.
What key achievements did you have in 2021 / 2022?
Two Six Technologies enjoyed exceptional achievements in 2021 and 2022, beginning with the company’s formation in February 2021. This was followed by the acquisition of three strategically complementary companies, including two this year: Trusted Concepts in August 2021, River Loop Security in April 2022 and Thresher Ventures in April 2022.
Within 22 months, the leadership team effectively combined five separate companies: these three acquired companies and the original Two Six platform ⏤ which itself was composed of Two Six Labs and IST Research ⏤ to create a single integrated and collaborative company with a shared mission, culture and core values, and growth strategy.
As one company, Two Six Technologies is stronger, more capable, and better positioned to execute its mission of delivering technological superiority for our nation, allies and partners through rapid, impact focused innovation.
The strength of Two Six Technologies is our staff, and we experienced incredible growth in 2021 and 2022. The staff of Two Six are incredibly talented and dedicated to the mission needs of our customers. We are committed to continuing to hire, develop, empower, and challenge the most talented and passionate people in the industry.
We have over 575 employees as of October, which represents dramatic growth of more than 100% from approximately 285 upon the company’s formation in February 2021.
We have outstanding teams of experienced, highly trained professionals and specialists including computer scientists, cryptographers, cybersecurity experts, engineers, mathematicians, nuclear physicists, software developers, and veterans of the U.S. military and intelligence community. Every employee is an invaluable asset, and we currently have a retention rate far better than our peers in the industry.
At the same time, we have expanded and cultivated our footprint in the government and commercial industries with new customer growth and significant expansions of our available contract ceiling. Our existing customers are excited about our products and expertise, and the compelling complementary fit of our recent acquisitions.
Over the past year, we achieved 90% contract renewal in our Information Operations business unit. In 2022, our organic revenue growth exceeded 18%, and our growth trajectory is very strong based on a robust pipeline of new opportunities.
What are you most proud of having been a part of in your current organization?
I am most proud of our continuing delivery of innovative solutions to the world’s most complex challenges. This relentless focus on innovation is driven by Two Six’s core values which encourage our employees to be brave enough to fail and confident enough to deliver. From our inception in February 2021 and continuing today and into the future, we strive to provide innovative products that solve real-world challenges and support national security.
What are your primary focus areas going forward, and why are those so important to the future of the nation?
Our strategic vision at Two Six Technologies is to be a trusted partner who delivers technological products and expertise that elevate U.S. national security.
To do this, Two Six focuses on creating cutting-edge innovations from sponsored research programs and then transitioning those innovations into fielded systems and operational solutions in the fields of cyber, information operations, electronic systems, secure solutions and analytics.
The world is constantly changing with new threats and unique challenges. Our adversaries are evolving and our solutions need to do the same. In this complex environment, Two Six continues to innovate, develop new products, and deliver unique expertise to address the needs of our nation today and in the future.
