AT&T has announced leadership changes in its public sector organization.

Zee Hussain, a 20-plus years veteran of AT&T’s leadership ranks, has been named president of AT&T Public Sector. Most recently, he led AT&T enterprise sales teams helping modernize and transform communications technologies for commercial customers in health care, manufacturing and transportation.

He replaces Jason Porter, who’s transitioning to a new leadership role within the company.

Jim Bugel has been named president of AT&T’s FirstNet, leading all areas of the FirstNet program. He has spearheaded AT&T’s public safety communications efforts and was also a member of the team that led AT&T’s successful bid to build and operate the FirstNet network, awarded in March 2017.

Jill Singer will continue as vice president of defense and national security, with oversight of AT&T’s sales in the defense industry and across the intelligence community.

Vice President of Civilian and Shared Services Chris Smith will add to his existing portfolio responsibility for sales to federal public safety agencies. Vice President Stacy Schwartz is retiring, and federal public safety agencies under her will move to Smith’s organization.

Vice President of Healthcare Joe Drygas will take on sales leadership responsibilities for AT&T’s state and local government and education market segments.

All of these changes will take effect Oct. 16.
