General Dynamics Information Technology has won a $110 million Enterprise Service Desk task order by the Veterans Affairs Department. The contract has a 6-month base period, four 1-year option periods and one 6-month option period.

“This task order will enhance service delivery, reduce cost, and improve the quality of IT services for all VA personnel,” said Kamal Narang, GDIT vice president and general manager for federal health.

The VA provides the country’s largest healthcare system, serving more than 9 million veterans. Under this contract, GDIT will provide 24/7/365 Tier 1 IT and technical support services to more than 500,000 VA personnel at all VA locations nationwide. The company will also implement remote automation tools and knowledge management platforms to support self-service requests and improve customer experience.

“At GDIT, we are committed to supporting our veterans and their families. We are looking forward to collaborating with the VA to create an interactive user experience that is easy, effective and personalized,” Narang said.

GDIT will operate services from its Technology Shared Services centers in Bossier City, Louisiana; Barbourville, Kentucky; and El Paso, Texas. Each site will provide operational redundancy and contingency during emergency events and natural disasters.

GDIT has supported the VA Enterprise Service Desk since 2018, and this past May received its 10 millionth service desk request.
