    John B. Owens, CGI Federal

    John B. Owens

    Senior Vice President, CGI Federal

Over the past few years, John B. Owens successfully led his team in adapting CGI Federal’s signature solutions, Momentum and Sunflower to follow Agile SAFe standards. These modules render a human-centered experience, offering federal customers enhanced capabilities that respectively address daily contract challenges and oversee full asset life cycle management. Both systems enhance users’ ability to meet the demands of mission-critical solutions.

Owens’ team was recently awarded the ISO/IEC 17025 forensic accreditation for its Digital Forensics Lab, allowing the team to tackle crimes such as fraud, IP theft and other digitally-based breaches for federal customers. Facilitating this work from their Huntsville, Alabama, lab, CGI experts work with industry-leading data/evidence collection, processing, analysis and litigation support to enable thorough, precise end-to-end forensic investigations.

As the group consistently drives down organizational costs for customers, Owens offers continued education to ensure his team’s skills are current while placing a large emphasis on growth and engagement.

“It’s extremely important to keep our hard-working employees engaged and continuously help them build their skills as they complete mission-critical activities,” Owens said. “That’s a constant level of improvement and communication between the entire team.”

    Why Watch

In the next year and a half, the team plans to fully modernize CGI Federal’s facility management by refining an Agile SAFe development group, which secures and monitors network operations on servers and internal applications connecting to the government, drastically reducing costs and optimizing performance by embracing ITIL management.
