Bob Schwendinger

CIO, Arcfield

Bob Schwendinger is no stranger to the world of acquisitions, mergers and divestitures — and the IT transitions, separations and integrations that follow. Over the last two decades, he played a critical role supporting over 20 transactions for large tech and government contracting companies. This, plus his experience at multiple startups, is exactly why he was pegged by Arcfield to stand up the new organization’s enterprise IT.

When asked why he took the role at Arcfield, Schwendinger said he knew he wanted his next move to be at an innovation-first company that doesn’t shy away from complex IT obstacles, especially those familiar to government contractors, and that is willing to challenge the status quo.

“Leading an organization through multiple transitional IT efforts is work that I am very familiar with and have done for many years,” Schwendinger said. “But the chance to do that while also establishing a truly greenfield 2020-era IT environment at a brand-new organization was a dream opportunity.”

Why Watch

In 2022 and beyond, Schwendinger’s team will focus on establishing a true edge-to-cloud environment while meeting all the core Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification levels of compliance. The team will also leverage emerging technologies, like machine learning and artificial intelligence to enhance the end-user experience. Schwendinger’s innovative approach to enterprise IT will allow the company to grow organically and inorganically while scaling its IT environment accordingly and maintaining a superior level of support to its customers’ most critical national security missions.

“As a data-driven CIO shop, we’ll ensure all aspects of IT are focused and that we continue to build services and products to support the business’ rapid growth,” he said.
