General Dynamics Information Technology has appointed retired Maj. Gen. Garrett S. Yee as vice president and general manager of its Army sector.

GDIT’s support for the U.S. Army includes modernization and sustainment operations, simulation-based training solutions, and comprehensive logistics and supply chain management systems.

Yee will be driving growth and innovation and meeting customer needs, including providing specialized technology solutions and services in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, 5G and high-performance computing that improve the security of U.S. warfighters.

“Garrett brings a wealth of expertise and experience from a distinguished military career to our team,” said Brian Sheridan, GDIT’s senior vice president for the defense division. “His extensive knowledge and background in global communications and IT systems will be a tremendous asset in supporting our customers’ missions.”

Yee served as the assistant to the director of the Defense Information Systems Agency, providing executive leadership for the agency’s $13 billion IT portfolio. Prior to his role at DISA, Yee was military deputy and chief information security officer for the Army CIO/G-6 at the Pentagon.

“GDIT has a great reputation for supporting the warfighter’s mission and enabling a work force that is innovative, connected and productive,” Yee said. “After a fulfilling military career, I am excited to transition to a company that is focused on serving its customers while also prioritizing its people.”
