Shanda Hinton
Chief Diversity Officer, Raytheon Technologies
Shanda Hinton’s most recent notable achievement is driving alignment of Raytheon Technologies’ diversity, equity and inclusion commitments throughout its global company, allowing her team to accelerate action.
“We’re being intentional in our efforts and fundamentally believe that in order for our company to achieve continued success, we must drive innovation through diversity, equity and inclusion to fuel opportunity for our employees, our customers and our communities,” she said.
By 2030, Hinton said they’ll achieve gender parity and double the representation of people of color in the company’s executive ranks, drive tangible outcomes in underserved communities, increase spending with diverse suppliers and more.
“These commitments will take time,” Hinton said. “We recognize this is a marathon, not a sprint, and are committed to using our power to become a force for good to drive long-term, multi-generational impact and change.”
Why Watch
In 2022, Hinton and her team are heavily focused on turning goals into action. That means working every day to advance Raytheon Technologies’ four pillars for action: its strategy to cultivate an environment of inclusion and innovation; to invest strategically in its global communities; to drive economic empowerment and opportunity through supplier diversity; and to champion equality for all by using its public policy resources to help address barriers for underserved communities.
“We are all diverse in our own unique ways, and channeling that diversity opens the door to endless possibilities of innovation needed to solve the world’s toughest challenges,” Hinton said.
