Laila Salguero

Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer, Peraton

As Peraton’s first chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer, Laila Salguero is the driving force behind the company’s rapid evolution to become an industry leader in DE&I.

With over two decades in human resources, ethics and compliance, Salguero is strategic and deliberate in her approach to diversity and inclusion. Shortly after starting her role, she set out on a listening tour to create an organic culture stemming from employee contributions.

“DE&I is mission-critical to our organization,” she said. “To capture and retain the best and brightest talent in the industry, we must listen to and support our employees.”

In her first year, Salguero and the DE&I team stood up four employee resource groups, launched a companywide mentorship program, hosted distinguished leaders for Peraton’s internal speaker series, and established sponsorships and initiatives to support women, veterans and emerging professionals.

Why Watch

Building on her foundation, Salguero plans to launch another ERG to support new employees as they navigate Peraton’s hybrid work environment. She’s also committed to supplier diversity, developing supply chain partnerships and enhancing recruitment over the next year.

“Peraton’s business outcomes, customer solutions and community partnerships are enhanced by the unique experiences each member of our diverse workforce brings to the company,” said Stu Shea, Peraton chairman, president and CEO. “Laila is driven and focused, and she understands that DE&I is key to our collective success. Our employees have a fearless advocate speaking up for them.”
