In the last year, Kimberly Highsmith’s biggest achievement was building ManTech’s inclusion and diversity strategy, and establishing ManTech’s inclusion and diversity governance structure, which encompasses all employees.
This was the launchpad for building on and successfully meeting ManTech’s I&D strategic objectives. 2022 is the company’s “Building Knowledge and Trust Year.” Education is truly the beginning of the journey.
“Our intentional focus on building knowledge is something I am very proud of,” Highsmith said.
Also important are the many contributions to policy enhancements and monthly diversity observances, and the establishment of an inclusion and diversity book club.
“We are setting the stage for continued forward movement,” Highsmith added.
She’s also pleased to have completed the Chief Diversity Equity Inclusion Officer — Executive Program at George Mason University.
“Through her passion for inclusion and diversity — and unwavering focus on I&D as a ManTech business imperative — Kimberly is leading us on a journey that resonates with all our employees,” said Julie Anna Barker, ManTech chief human resources officer. “Her steadfast approach to the goals of I&D is emblematic of a culture where employees come first and are at the heart of all we do.”

Next year, ManTech’s theme is to “Establish Accountability and Support.” The goal is to build out the I&D platform so ManTech is acting at the speed of business and establishing individual and collective accountability for its work environment. Highsmith said they will provide the necessary support to empower managers and employees in furthering the things that have value to them.
“We know that employees seek to bring their full selves to work and that they ultimately seek out places where they belong,” Highsmith said. “By focusing on our collective responsibilities to create the kind of work environment that fosters a sense of belonging, we expand our Employee Value Proposition. We shall continue our development of this initiative. Our Inclusion and Diversity Strategy is robust and designed to take us on a journey of maturation.”
