Senior Vice President, Booz Allen Hamilton

Cedric Sims’ biggest recent achievement has been guiding his team through the growth of business while managing the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic. The team has had minimal attrition while expanding delivery with partners into missions where it’s helping secure government networks, strengthen supply chains and contribute to domestic resilience.

“Our continued commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion has been welcome and has reinforced our core values while revering our talent,” Sims said.

And he stands by the quote, “When was the last time you did something for the first time?” This speaks to the need to be a lifelong learner, willing to challenge oneself and team to grow, innovate and disrupt.

Adjacent to that is the concept that people need to move beyond the construct these challenges are a team sport.

“We must have a shared mission,” Sims said. “Our renewed focus on domestic resilience in 2022 is a commitment to share our clients’ missions — bringing the best of Booz Allen to grow, innovate and disrupt. “

    Why Watch

In 2022, Sims and his team have a focus on the missions of immigration and migration. A record influx of refugees and migrants are entering the U.S. in response to global conflict and economic crises. In government fiscal year 2021, there were a record 1.9 million nationwide encounters.

“As our economy recovers from the global pandemic and supply chain disruptions, the demand for advanced, scaled security programs drives the prerequisite for actionable data,” Sims said. “Our nation needs every instrument to give our leaders the decision advantage to counter human trafficking, stop the illegal proliferation of weapons and drugs, and identify potential risks for terrorism obscured in our legal supply chain.”

Massive volumes and sources of data require advanced data management and analytics capabilities, so Sims and his team will partner with leading federal agencies to enable more efficient immigrant and migrant processing to ease pressure on the growing backlog of applicant and asylum requests.

“Cedric’s deep understanding of the homeland security missions is critical to Booz Allen’s efforts to scale these agencies’ operations during times of unprecedented global migration while driving improvements in the immigration experience for all aspiring citizens,” said Kristine Martin Anderson, Booz Allen civil sector president.
