Vice President, Threat Defense, Forescout Technologies Inc.
Shawn Taylor’s biggest achievement has been supporting the company’s customers in their critical moments during or immediately after a cybersecurity incident or breach.
“It is in those moments where I can make a significant impact and difference to an organization which is incredibly fulfilling,” he said. “This is purpose-driven work, and we get to help organizations recover from and defend against cybersecurity incidents.”
Driven by customer demand to understand their threat exposure and risks, Taylor now leads a team that provides threat hunting, risk assessment and incident response enrichment services. The team has completed several customer engagements that identified multiple critical cybersecurity threats on their networks, including log4j as well as those announced by Forescout’s Vedere Labs’ research initiative Project Memoria.
“For several years, Shawn has been working with our valued customer base to translate network and endpoint data into actionable incident response plans,” said Ellen Sundra, chief customer officer at Forescout. “It is exciting to see him take this foundation a step further and evolve these capabilities to create the new Forescout threat defense team.”
In 2022, the company will be heavily focused on helping organizations — customers and non-customers alike — identify vulnerabilities, risks and threats across their digital terrain. Forescout’s research team, Vedere Labs, is also cultivating rich cybersecurity and threat intelligence. And the added layer of its threat hunting team means it’s uniquely positioned to leverage that intelligence to proactively identify threats.
“Forescout is helping organizations and government agencies around the world manage cyber risk through automation and data-powered insight,” Taylor said. “I am proud of the work that we do every day to help these organizations recover and defend against the latest cybersecurity incidents.”
