Rebecca McHale, chief information officer at Peraton, won WashingtonExec’s 2022 Chief Officer Award for Chief Information Officer in the Public & Private Company category.
WashingtonExec on May 11 unveiled the winners of the Chief Officer Awards, an annual program that recognizes the most impactful and innovative executives in government and industry sitting in the C-suite. Nearly 450 attendees gathered for the in-person luncheon held at the Ritz Carlton in McLean, Virginia.
McHale noted in her finalist Q+A with WashingtonExec that recently accepting the role as CIO at Peraton was a turning point in her career.
“I entered the company in the middle of its transformative growth year amidst a fully remote workforce,” she said. “Integrating three heritage system architectures in a virtual environment challenged my ability to effectively communicate across the company to meet project milestones. In the end, we emerged with a unified architecture, but the greater success was gaining the trust of my team and seeing the results of our collaborative work.”
