Michael Smith
Chief Security Officer, Arcfield
After a successful, 23-year career with the Secret Service, Michael Smith joined as the chief security officer of newly launched national security services provider Arcfield. For over two decades, he specialized in assessing and executing the technical and physical security plans necessary for safeguarding the nation’s most critical assets and sites.
“We emphasize the role of security in every aspect of our business,” said Kevin Kelly, chairman and CEO of Arcfield. “We are grateful to have such a strong leader in Mike in the role of CSO. We are also pleased to have Arcfield representation in the WashingtonExec CSO working group and are certain Mike will be a valuable contributor.”
Arcfield’s customer set includes agencies in the intelligence community, the Defense Department and the federal civilian space. With a “failure is not an option” mentality, Smith’s leadership and experience will strengthen Arcfield’s position in the market and its ability to remain a trusted partner in the intelligence community and with other agencies.
Why Watch
In 2022 and beyond, Smith’s team will oversee all aspects of personnel security, physical security, information systems security and program security for the company; ensure compliance with security regulations; and provide education and awareness programs to the company’s workforce.
Smith describes his career of service in defending national security from the front line as a privilege, and the greatest honor he and his family could give to this country.
“As stakeholders and supporters of national security programs, it is our duty as government partners to be successful every day and at every moment to ensure our customers prevail,” Smith said. “I look forward to continuing to defend national security in this new role at Arcfield.”
