Avantus Federal has added retired Air Force Maj. Gen. Albert “Buck” Elton II as senior vice president of defense programs.

“I am excited to serve in this new capacity, as Avantus shares the same agile ability to quickly deliver the tools and talent to the warfighter that I devoted my career in the military to building alongside high-performing teams,” Elton said.

Elton is responsible for overseeing delivery excellence, strategic direction and growth for Avantus’ defense division. He is also responsible for developing, coaching and retaining the division’s staff and integrating capabilities across Avantus.

“Buck adds tremendous value to our organization and the clients we serve,” said Avantus Federal President and Chief Operating Officer Luanne Pavco. “Buck’s service in the military and his firsthand knowledge of driving innovation and new approaches into Defense and Intelligence missions make him the ideal leader to advance our services and deliver enhanced solutions to our nation’s most critical organizations.”

Elton brings 31 years of leadership and management experience in the military. He was a command pilot with over 4,300 flying hours, served as the commanding general of Special Operations Joint Task Force -Afghanistan and was the commanding general of NATO Special Operations Component Command.

“As customers require innovative approaches to complex problems, faster, to compete and win in the competition grey zone over the coming years and decades, Avantus brings to the table best-in-class integrated solutions that offer clients unmatched value that drive progress across our expanding Defense customer footprint,” Elton said.
