Andy Green

Executive Vice President & President, Technical Solutions Division, Huntington Ingalls Industries

Last year was anything but “business as usual” for HII Technical Solutions President Andy Green, who led his team through unique challenges associated with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the changing guidelines for the federal vaccination mandate and the $1.65 billion acquisition of Alion Science and Technology.

In addition to the Alion acquisition, his team completed construction of an Unmanned Systems Center of Excellence in Hampton, Virginia; successfully debuted the Proteus unmanned surface vessel for testing and development of autonomy capabilities; and secured contract awards valued at $346 million and $273 million, respectively, to support U.S. Africa Command’s life-saving operations and the U.S. Navy’s aircraft carrier and surface ship maintenance, Green said.

“In Technical Solutions, we are continually changing — always for the better — to drive growth and meet our customers’ national security needs,” Green said. “We have the right team, expertise and strategic focus to make a positive difference, and are committed to starting and finishing strong so our customers know they can count on us to solve their toughest challenges.”

Why Watch

HII’s Technical Solutions division is accelerating capability development and technology integration to address its customers’ new and evolving global threat environment. The division will continue to change, grow and develop by being agile and flexible in seeking new opportunities, adapting to changing market dynamics and staying aligned with customers while continuing to optimize its portfolio, Green said.
