SAIC’s Vishal Tulsian to Chair 2022 Heart of Greater Washington Campaign

    Vishal Tulsian, SAIC

Vishal Tulsian, senior vice president of operations for Science Applications International Corp.’s state/local, health care and federal financial customers, has been named chair of the Heart of Greater Washington campaign by the American Heart Association.

“I am passionate about helping people and excited about this campaign’s focus on CPR and empowering people to save lives,” he said.

“According to the AHA, about 90% of people who suffer out-of-hospital cardiac arrests die. In DC, that number tracks even higher. Because CPR can double or triple a cardiac arrest victim’s chance of survival, educating as many people as possible on how to respond to these incidents is critical to improving outcomes,” Tulsian added.

Tulsian has been at SAIC since 2013 and has over 20 years of experience in management and delivery of IT services. In his role as chair of the Heart of Greater Washington campaign, Tulsian will lead the AHA’s efforts driving equitable health for every member of the greater Washington region.

He will also focus on increasing awareness of CPR skills, which are foundational to the AHA’s work.

The Heart of Greater Washington campaign leads to the 2022 Greater Washington Region Heart Ball, which is being held in-person April 23 at The Mandarin Oriental in Washington, D.C.

“I invite everyone to join us for the Heart Ball and to take opportunities throughout the year to give and advance the AHA’s work around the world and in our community,” Tulsian said. “The impact one makes by being a part of this exceptional campaign will be felt well beyond the incredible evening we have planned.”

The Heart Ball brings together corporate, health care and community leaders for a night of live and silent auctions, dinner, dancing, special guests and tributes to survivors and physicians. The event will be held in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local health guidance.

“For nearly 100 years, the American Heart Association has been fighting heart disease and stroke, and helping families and communities thrive,” said Soula Antoniou, executive director of the AHA, Greater Washington Region. “And we are able to do so because of volunteer leaders like Vishal and sponsors who lead the charge and bring our campaigns and events to life.”
