WashingtonExec’s JD Kathuria presents Microsoft’s Tom Keane with a Pinnacle Award.

Tom Keane, corporate vice president and general manager of Microsoft Azure Global, has won WashingtonExec’s 2021 Pinnacle Award for Cloud Industry Executive of the Year (Public Company).

WashingtonExec on Dec. 8 virtually unveiled the winners of the Pinnacle Awards, an annual program that embodies the WashingtonExec spirit of highlighting successful executives and businesses saving money and fostering innovation for federal clients across the region.

Keane noted some recent key achievements were launching Azure Government Secret and Azure Government Top Secret cloud regions, and developing and launching a portfolio of edge devices that bring cloud capabilities worldwide.

Looking ahead, Keane said the organization is focused on enterprise promises that enable customers to “host the most critical, complex and regulated workloads on Microsoft Azure.” These promises ensure customer data and workloads are secure, monitored, available, trusted and compliant.

“Whether you are a mission owner, or you are building tools to support mission owners, you will have access to a very rich set of cloud capabilities, available on the fabric of your choice, easy to launch in the enclave of your choice, with the permissions you choose, and extending across the technology that your team already uses to serve your mission,” Keane said.
