    Matt Jones, Sigma Defense Systems

    Matt Jones

    CEO, Sigma Defense Systems

Since joining Sigma Defense in January 2021, Matt Jones has led his team to double-digit organic growth, captured a $250 million single award contract, constructed a scalable platform and positioned the company for even greater growth in 2022.

Jones’ drive for innovation and his vision for software-led tactical communications drove the acquisition of SOLUTE Consulting, adding DevSecOps and software expertise to the Sigma Defense solution portfolio. He also implemented an initiative to rebrand Sigma Defense, launch a dynamic new website and grow the business through an integrated marketing strategy.

    Why Watch

2022 is poised to be a year of significant growth for Sigma Defense. Backed by Sagewind Capital, Sigma continues to grow capabilities internally and through acquisition. Their focus on software and vision for communications as-a-service brings an innovative approach to the customer’s requirements around C5ISR, SATCOM, JADC2 and DevSecOps, Jones said.

“As we embark on the next phase of our journey, we are laser focused on converting our customers’ visions to reality,” he said. “The ability to communicate and collaborate effectively in austere environments requires the seamless connection of people, systems and data at speed and precision to preserve our nation’s strategic advantage. Sigma Defense is poised to deliver on that promise through open-source software and agile, modern communications platforms that are easy to acquire, deploy, manage and operate.”
