    Peter LaMontagne, SMX

    Peter LaMontagne

    CEO, SMX

Appointed CEO at SMX in July 2020, Peter LaMontagne is an accomplished private-equity executive with more than 20 years of experience leading technology solutions companies that serve U.S. government and commercial markets.

LaMontagne and the executive team he has assembled are focused on digital transformation solutions tied to SMX client mission understanding and technical acumen in cloud, ISR and engineering.

In his first year at SMX, LaMontagne led the acquisitions of Datastrong — a data architecture and business analytics provider — and C2S Consulting Group — a pure-play, full-spectrum cloud solution provider. His acquisition strategy has focused on enhancing the company’s position as a Gartner-recognized leader and visionary in cloud.

And in November 2021, LaMontagne announced the rebranding of its four legacy companies as SMX. In addition to the rebranding launch, SMX deepened integration of benefits and IT systems across the company all while achieving solid growth in core markets.

“Our SMX teams and solutions are helping to accelerate and deepen our client mission impact across our target markets from combatant commands to commercial healthcare companies,” he said.

    Why Watch

LaMontagne’s priorities for SMX in 2022 are further expansion of cloud and data solutions to Defense Department mission clients as well as pursuing new market opportunities involving prioritized government space initiatives. SMX will also be active in mergers and acquisitions, primarily to advance its cloud-native appdev capability.
