Bruce Crawford
Senior Vice President, Strategic Development, Jacobs
Retired Army Lt. Gen. Bruce Crawford joined Jacobs’ Critical Mission Solutions leadership team in November 2020, bringing with him more than 34 years of leadership, executive management, national security, enterprise IT and cybersecurity experience.
Crawford’s previous roles include Army’s chief information officer/deputy chief of staff G6; senior Army IT official; and most recently, principal policy, governance and oversight adviser to the secretary of the Army and the Army chief of staff.
In this role, Crawford and his team of military and civilian professionals provided oversight of the Army’s $13 billion annual IT budget, laid the foundation for the Army’s data strategy and stood up a first-ever Army Enterprise Cloud Management Office (now the Enterprise Cloud Management Agency), while also overseeing the Army’s transition to cloud-enabled virtual capabilities at the beginning of the pandemic.
Crawford was recognized by WashingtonExec as one of the Top 25 Execs to Watch in 2021. He was also named the Black Engineer of the Year Association’s 2020 Black Engineer of the Year for his contributions as a CIO and his work in mentoring youth. He was also selected to co-author Palo Alto Networks’ third edition of “Navigating the Digital Age” cybersecurity guide.
Why Watch
Crawford is responsible for driving growth via new and emerging markets in the $5.5 billion Critical Mission Solutions line of business, led by Executive Vice President and President Dawne Hickton.
“I’m super excited about the company’s unique approach to challenge what’s accepted, using our expertise, customer intimacy, and best in class capabilities to rethink the way we solve problems, with the culture of our people as the differentiator,” Crawford said.
“I’m inspired by both our growth trajectory and endless opportunities to illuminate the art of the possible,” he added. “Clearly, the challenges that await us in this evolving era of great power global competition are exceeded only by the opportunities to make an enduring difference for both the customers and the partners that we serve. Definitely exciting times ahead.”
