The finalists for WashingtonExec’s Pinnacle Awards were announced Oct. 13, and we’ll be highlighting some of them until the event takes place virtually Dec. 8.

Next is Healthcare Industry Executive of the Year (Private Company) finalist Antonina Shtilkind, who’s vice president of health delivery at Brillient Corp. Here, she talks key achievements, learning from failures, career advice and more.

What key achievements did you have in 2020 2021?

Supporting FDA mission while leading more than 150 consulting personnel during one of the most challenging times in the FDA history dealing with COVID-19 pandemic response.

What are you most proud of having been a part of in your current organization?

Playing an important part in Brillient success and seeing the company grow 100-fold since my first day. I am proud to be a part of Brillient, it’s the most innovative and progressive organization I have ever been a part of.

What’s one key thing you learned from a failure you had?

The biggest failure is not trying or not learning from it. As long as you learn from it, the failure is a sure sign of growth and progress.

Which rules do you think you should break more as a government/industry leader?

Don’t be afraid to express your opinion. At the end of the day, we are all citizens and taxpayers who shall feel a personal responsibility for our nation success and security.

What’s your best career advice for those who want to follow in your footsteps?

Trust your intuition and don’t worry about the work-life balance, there will never be a balance if you don’t absolutely love what you do.
