Parsons Corp. has named Peter Torrellas president of the connected communities business unit and member of the company’s executive leadership team.
“Parsons is in a unique position to lead the digital transformation of our nation’s critical infrastructure,” Torrellas said. “I am excited to join the Parsons team at this moment and to be a part of that journey.”
In his new role, Torrellas will report to Carey Smith, president and CEO of Parsons.
“Peter is a recognized leader in delivering results at the intersection of technology and critical infrastructure,” Smith said.
Torrellas brings more than two decades of experience leading digital transformation across infrastructure markets, including intelligent transportation systems, smart mobility, energy, aviation, and rail and transit.

Before that, he was head of smart cities and communities at Siemens Smart Infrastructure.
“His deep industry experience across the markets where the Parsons connected communities business unit operates, combined with his expertise in driving game-changing infrastructure innovation, is invaluable at a time when the United States is shifting to smarter infrastructure and enhances our ability to create the future,” Smith said.
