Woman-owned small business Jefferson Consulting Group has hired Marty Mackes as chief delivery officer to lead the delivery teams, HR, recruiting, contracts and IT.

“I am thrilled to have Marty join this amazing team,” said Jefferson CEO Janet Clement. “I’ve worked with Marty previously and I know his commitment to execution, quality, and people.”

Mackes joins from Avantus Federal (formerly E3 Federal Solutions). His most recent role there was chief delivery officer.

“I’m excited to lead an amazing talented team with a history of delivering exceptional results to the Federal Government while supporting the firm’s business growth and corporate strategy in addition to leading Human Resources, Recruiting, Contracts, and the firm’s information technology groups,” Mackes said.

Mackes has over 25 years’ experience executing and authorizing delivery services and solutions to federal clients. He’s successfully led and grown business in small and large companies.

“Marty is an excellent addition to our Executive team and it’s great to have him on board and leading delivery,” said Allan Burman, longtime president of Jefferson Solutions. “His extensive experience gives him a terrific perspective to lead Jefferson delivery and help our clients achieve their missions”

Mackes sits on the board of the Homeland Defense Business Council and served on the Washington Homeland Security Roundtable Steering Committee. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Old Dominion University.
