Clint Crosier
Director of Aerospace and Satellite, Amazon Web Services
Retired Maj. Gen. Clint Crosier said he was honored last year to be asked to help build the new AWS Aerospace and Satellite team, the newest global business segment — especially during a time of such tremendous growth and change in the industry.
AWS has extensive experience helping commercial and government customers and partners in the space domain. Today, AWS helps thousands of government and commercial customers and partners build satellites, conduct space and launch operations, and reimagine space exploration.
Crosier said he is tremendously proud to lead this world-class team, which brings deep expertise and understanding from across every facet of the industry, from spacecraft design and launch to on-orbit operations and space exploration.
Why Watch
Crosier’s team remains focused on listening to their customers to truly understand the challenges they face, and where they want to go next. With cloud technology, Crosier said AWS was able to innovate and iterate to quickly explore a solution alongside the customer. Crosier’s team is committed to using this collaborative approach to refine that solution until it meets their mission needs.
“I believe that the cloud will become an indispensable foundation for the global aerospace industry. Government and commercial customers and partners will only stay competitive and relevant if they can operate with the cloud,” Crosier said.
AWS is also uniquely positioned to help fuel innovation in the global aerospace and satellite industry. In order to further foster this spirit of innovation, AWS recently launched the AWS Space Accelerator. This four-week business support program, taking place in June 2021, is designed to leverage the power of startups to drive innovation and improve accessibility to space data, while helping to solve the biggest challenges in the space industry.
“As the global aerospace and satellite industry enters a new age, we remain committed to meeting the needs of aerospace and satellite customers by helping reimagine space system architectures, launching new services that process space data, providing secure, flexible, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud solutions and inspiring future generations,” Crosier said.
