Charlie Mcgillis has been instrumental to Slingshot Aerospace’s successful business development as a developer of space simulation and analytics solutions.
In 2020, she led the initiative that resulted in Slingshot Aerospace securing a contract with the Space Force to develop Slingshot Laboratory, an immersive space simulation tool. This technology has propelled the company forward as a leading education and training platform for the Space Force.
Additionally, Mcgillis presented Slingshot Orbital as a revolutionary technology at AFWERX Space Challenge. The company was one of the 26 teams out of 800 participants who submitted a solution and received a contract from the Air Force.
Lastly, Mcgillis led the efforts for International Space Pitch Day, where Slingshot Aerospace was a winner and immediately offered a first-of-its-kind, joint contract from the U.S. Air Force and the U.K’s Ministry of Defence.
Mcgillis is dedicated to advancing progress in space and STEM education. She was selected as a “Space Hero Insider” to help advance humanity and continue the ground-breaking progresses in space exploration; is a member of AstraFemina, a collective of female space leaders who have made a significant difference in the world; and a volunteer with Tech Trek, where she mentors eighth-grade girls in STEM education.

In 2021, Mcgillis’ team will be heavily focused on cultivating new business development to meet the company’s aggressive goals. To accomplish this, Mcgillis is strategizing the company’s expansion to commercial and international customers.
Slingshot Aerospace is elevating its customers abilities to monitor, simulate and optimize their space systems with the company’s dynamic virtual environments and decision intelligence technology, she said.
