Red Hat announced retired Navy Capt. Ben McNeal has joined as director of Navy and Marine Corps strategy and sales. He will be responsible for driving sales for the Navy and Marine Corps digital transformation efforts.

“I’m excited to further advance my career in defense IT and continue supporting my constituents at the Navy and Marine Corps in this new role at Red Hat,” McNeal said. “I look forward to stepping into this new role and sharing this institutional knowledge to help our Navy and Marine Corps customers meet their mission needs.”

Prior to joining Red Hat, McNeal served in the Navy as an information warfare engineering duty officer and an acquisition professional. He was most recently a program manager for the tactical edge and enterprise networks, supporting both the Navy and Marine Corps.

“With three decades of experience serving in the Navy and overseeing Naval Enterprise Networks, I’m excited that Ben chose to continue his career in defense IT on the private sector-side with Red Hat,” said Nathan Jones, vice president of federal at Red Hat. “Ben brings invaluable expertise and insight into the DoD’s IT modernization needs, in addition to being an established thought leader in the field.”
