Mike Gordon, chief information security officer at Lockheed Martin, has won WashingtonExec’s 2021 Chief Officer Award for Public Company CISO.
In its second year, the Chief Officer Awards luncheon was held May 27 as a virtual live-streamed program to recognize C-suite executives in both industry and government for their innovation, expertise, impact and thought leadership.
As CISO, Gordon is responsible for the company’s overall information security strategy, policy, security engineering, operations, and cyber threat detection and response. He has more than 19 years of experience at Lockheed Martin, and overseas a team of cybersecurity professionals who manage the company’s end-to-end enterprise security infrastructure, develop world-class capabilities to defend against advanced persistent threats, and enable open collaboration and information sharing with LMC’s government and industry partners.
Prior to his current role, Gordon served as director of intelligence and operations for Lockheed Martin’s corporate information security and led intelligence-driven defense operations.
Gordon is a founder and serves on the board of directors for the Defense Information Security Exchange and the National Defense Information Sharing and Analysis Center. He has an undergraduate degree in engineering physics and a master’s in technical management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and an MBA and master’s of information assurance degree from the University of Dallas.
