John Ustica, chief financial officer at Siemens Government Technologies, has won WashingtonExec’s 2021 Chief Officer Award for Public Company CFO.

In its second year, the Chief Officer Awards luncheon was held May 27 as a virtual live-streamed program to recognize C-suite executives in both industry and government for their innovation, expertise, impact and thought leadership.

Ustica’s career with Siemens spans 20 years in the power generation and industrial manufacturing sector. He has led a number of initiatives in support of corporate and project finance, strategic acquisition, financial work stream delegation, forecasting, reporting, planning and internal audits.

Prior to CFO, Ustica was the general manager for generator products at Siemens Energy Facility in Charlotte, North Carolina, and a plant controller for Fort Payne Operations.

Ustica has also served as the plant manager of Siemens Energy Facility for Electrical Components in Fort Payne, Alabama, and as the director of finance at Siemens Power Generation Heavy Plant Facility in Mulheim, Germany.

In 2018, Ustica was named to the “Top 40 Business Leaders Under 40” by the Charlotte Business Journal. He holds an MBA from Rollins College and a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus on finance from the University of Central Florida.
