Accenture Federal Services has won a $453 million prime contract from the Department of Veterans Affairs to refresh GI Bill claims processing for veterans, service members and their dependents.
Under the Digital GI Bill Delivery Program, AFS is to improve education claims processing and transform other education and management systems for the Veterans Benefits Administration through automation, user interface/user experience design, service transformation, analytics and other modern IT services.
The contract runs for a base period of 7 months with nine, 1-year option periods. AFS will serve as the prime for this modernization effort, leading an integrated team of 12 subcontractors.
Accenture is excited to support VA in transforming its Digital GI Bill program, said Shawn Roman, managing director at Accenture Federal Services and client account lead for VA.
“Through the Digital GI Bill Delivery Program, we will help VA reduce its claims processing times through increased automation, enabling VA administrators and employees to focus on serving Veterans and providing a more productive veteran experience,” he added.

This is such good news. I am a widower of a deceased Veteran. I have been trying to get my widows pension, DIC, Education, and or VA Mortgage claim approved for 18 years. My former spouse the deceased Veteran fought hard in Vietnam (Purple ); and it has been 18 years since his passing due to respiratory failure from a glioblastoma brain tumor. It’s just sad how the VA does not honor and respect their error of exposing their military soilders’ to the deadly chemical of agent orange whichbis the base to his diagnosis as the presumtive cause of his death! Maybe you guys can further your research and help so many others experiencing this same demise.
