Engineering services and technology provider Systems Engineering Associates Corp. — also known as SEACORP — has announced its sale to Roy Kapani in a private transaction.
The founder of ECS, which he ran until its sale in 2018, Kapani has 30 years of experience building and running technology companies that support U.S. national defense and national security agencies.
SEACORP President Dave Lussier and his executive team of Dave Cadorette, Craig McMillian and Tanya Zaleski will continue to lead SEACORP.
The SEACORP team is thrilled to partner with Kapani and his team, Lussier said.
“This partnership will allow us to further build our brand, broaden our portfolio of capabilities and expand into new customer segments by investing in the business, both organically and with strategic acquisitions,” he added.
The technologies developed and delivered by SEACORP “have been a personal interest of mine for many years,” Kapani said.
“I am truly excited to be working with the SEACORP team and look forward to helping them grow the company and its people into the future,” he continued. “I have deep respect for SEACORP and I am equally committed to maintaining the outstanding culture that their founder Brian Gilligan established and Dave Lussier and his team have nurtured over these past 40 years.”
Houlihan Lokey was the exclusive financial adviser to SEACORP. Duffy and Sweeney LLP served as legal counsel to SEACORP. Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and Piliero Mazza PLLC served as legal counsel to Kapani.
