WashingtonExec’s Amanda Ziadeh sits down with Gary Shiffman, CEO and founder of Giant Oak, to discuss why proper screening using advanced technologies is so important to preventing fraud, especially following pandemic and economic relief bills. Shiffman describes the challenges with current screening practices, and what some of those technological advancements in screening are. Following the congressional passing of a second COVID-19 relief bill, Shiffman explains why proper screening using these advanced technologies is crucial considering 2020’s potential fraud experience, which Shiffman said led to a higher need for security clearance reform. Shiffman closes with some recommendations for 2021, including how agencies should be assuring they have proper screening to reform the process.
