CM Equity Partners portfolio company Preferred Systems Solutions, Inc. has named Babs Doherty chief executive and president, reporting to the board of directors.

In her new role, Doherty will continue to work closely with the executive committee and the board. She will oversee and support all facets of the PSS organization, and will be responsible for growing PSS’s professional services and technology capabilities to bring mission-enabling innovation to new and existing customers.

“I am very pleased to be named CEO of the talented team of professionals at Preferred Systems Solutions,” Doherty said. “I look forward to building upon the success PSS has achieved and continuing to focus our mission-driven team on providing solutions to solve our Nation’s most complex challenges.”

Prior to joining PSS, Doherty was the founder of Eagle Ray, Inc., acquired by PSS in 2020 to expand its capabilities and accelerate growth within the intelligence community.

That acquisition was a key part step in the continued growth and increased stature of PSS in the government services marketplace, said Jim Ballard, chairman of the board for PSS.

“We are extremely pleased that a highly respected and exceptional leader, Babs Doherty, and her team will be leading this important effort going forward,” he added.
