Riverside Research has hired Dr. William Casebeer as the new director of artificial intelligence and machine learning for the organization’s Open Innovation Center.
In his new role, Casebeer will lead the advancement of neuromorphic computing, adversarial AI, human-machine teaming, virtual reality and object and activity recognition. He will also pursue opportunities for Riverside Research to work with government research organizations and other members of the intelligence community.
Casebeer brings two decades of experience leading research programs within the Defense Department and as a contractor to Riverside Research. He has held leadership roles at Scientific Systems, Beyond Conflict, Lockheed Martin and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. He began his career in the Air Force, where he went on to become a lieutenant colonel and intelligence analyst before he retired in 2011.
“We are so happy to have Dr. Casebeer join our team,” said Steve Omick, Riverside Research president and CEO. “His wealth of knowledge will be extremely valuable to not only the growth of our research and development in AI/ML but also to our other business units.”
