For Stephen Gillotte, winning Reinventing Geospatial, Inc.’s first indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract in December 2019 with the U.S. Army Geospatial Center’s GRIDS III MATOC was a significant milestone for the company.
“This 5-year contract is a testament to our growth and depth of expertise,” he said. “We exist to deliver an immediate impact for soldiers and analysts working on national security issues, and being a part of this long-term contract allows us to deliver meaningful solutions directly to those users.”
Strategically, one important industry shift currently underway is to transition RGi’s thinking from land war to an all-domain conflict, which includes space, air, land, sea, undersea and cyber/electronic warfare.
“At RGi, we are establishing geospatial as the common language for all-domain mission planning, situational awareness and situational understanding,” Gillotte said.
RGi is using its data science work in the artificial intelligence/machine learning field, as well as its thought leadership within the cyber situational awareness/situational understanding realm to develop and transition new innovations to soldiers and analysts.
Specifically with AI/ML, RGi is scaling computer vision algorithms to support the speed of intelligence and operational impact. One example is its work to implement a pipeline designed to perform broad area object detection at scale. Within the cyber SA/SU realm, RGi is developing technologies that enhance commander and staff understanding of the impacts of the cyber domain on missions and ongoing operations.

Along with its strategical plans and initiatives going forward, Gillotte said RGi is heavily focused on staying healthy and caring for its employees’ mental, physical and family health.
