Technology and services integrator SOS International’s Chief Human Resource Officer Janet Hanofee has joined the board of directors for the Human Resources Certification Institute, a credentialing and learning organization for the human resources profession.

Hanofee has worked closely with HRCI for more than 10 years, beginning as a contributing question writer for its competency certification exams. She later became an editor and then a coach/mentor for the organization. She also volunteers at local colleges and discusses the importance of continued education and training with future HR professionals.

“The responsibilities for HR professionals are continuously evolving,” Hanofee said. “HRCI helps HR professionals enhance their skills, knowledge, and abilities to stay ahead of market trends, drive a positive corporate culture, and deliver business results.”

To become HRCI certified, candidates must meet the strict professional experience and educational requirements before taking the exam. In 2019, more than 13,000 HR practitioners tested for HRCI credentials. To maintain certifications, professionals must remain in an HR role and re-certify every three years.

“Since joining us in 2017, Janet has helped us prepare our workforce and adapt our operations to keep the business moving forward through corporate acquisitions, government shutdowns, and most recently, the COVID-19 pandemic,” said SOSi President and CEO Julian Setian. “Having a well-trained, strategic HR team has been essential to keeping us competitive and overcoming the challenges we’ve faced over the past several years.”
