Science Applications International Corp. announced Aug. 20 it has won a $133 million Navy contract to continue providing mission engineering and integration services to the Maneuver, Engagement and Surveillance Systems Division at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Crane, Indiana.
The center operates under the Naval Sea Systems Command to provide acquisition engineering, in-service engineering and technical support for naval technology. It also works to apply both component and system-level product and industrial engineering to sensors and warfare systems and execute additional responsibilities assigned by the commander.
The contract has a 1-year base period with four 1-year options. It covers a wide variety of technological areas including command and control systems, tactical communications, networked intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems, software development and information assurance.
Under this contract, SAIC will continue to deliver engineering, technical support, analysis and modeling, studies, inventory and logistics and quality assurance systems to support tactical intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems.
“For more than 30 years, SAIC’s roughly 550 employees in Crane have helped to equip the warfighter with the solutions they need to be successful and to ensure mission readiness around the world,” said Jim Scanlon, the company’s executive vice president and general manager of its Defense Systems Group. “We are excited to continue our work advancing complex missions for the Navy.”
