The Defense Department has recognized Parsons Corp. with the James S. Cogswell Industrial Security Achievement Award, which honors outstanding participation and compliance with the National Industrial Security Program.
Polaris Alpha Advanced Systems, Inc., a Parsons company focused on prototype development and sensor and imagery analysis, was selected for the award.
The award was established in 1966 to honor Air Force Col. James Cogswell, the first chief of industrial security of the Unified Office of Industrial Security.
The award’s selection criteria include establishing and maintaining a security program that exceeds the basic program requirements, providing leadership in establishing best practices and maintaining the highest standards for security. Just 61 winners were chosen out of 12,000 participants.
“Our selection for this prestigious award reflects Parson’s total commitment to the protection of classified information to ensure the greatest protection for the U.S. warfighter,” said Carey Smith, Parsons president and chief operating officer. “I am proud of the Parsons employees who fully embrace security measures to better safeguard our nation. This recognition elevates Parsons to an elite tier of national industrial security contractors.”
