Science Applications International Corp. has hired Nyla Beth Gawel as senior vice president of strategy to develop strategy to drive organic growth and execute strategic business plans with leaders enterprisewise.
Gawel said she’s excited to assume this new position with the SAIC team and to leverage her experience to help the company grow.
“I look forward to collaborating with SAIC’s leadership to develop and orchestrate the company’s growth strategy,” she added.
Gawel has extensive experience leading strategy and development. She previously served as director of public sector strategy at Verizon Business Group, where she led strategy and development for the public sector business focused on providing networks, products and services for customers.
Prior to Verizon, Gawel was vice president of Booz Allen Hamilton’s Strategic Innovation Group. In this position, she led the company’s strategy and development of new business opportunities for platform-as-a-service delivery of government citizen services and helped the company launch its innovation center and solution group.
Gawel began her career in 2000 as a program analyst for the National Institute of Justice and moved to a homeland security director position at G&H International Services.
“Nyla Beth’s experience and background as a strategy leader will be an enormous asset to SAIC as we drive organic growth and strengthen our capabilities to deliver digital transformation solutions to federal customers,” said Dee Dee Helfenstein, SAIC executive vice president and chief strategic growth officer.
