William “Bill” Bender, Leidos

In 2019, Bill Bender took on an increased leadership role at Leidos, when field account and enterprise IDIQ management responsibilities were placed in his organization.  Bender was designated as the corporate lead for customer relationship assessments, helping to ensure differentiated services and solutions for Leidos’ federal and commercial customers.

Last year was an exciting year of growth for Leidos with the acquisitions of Dynetics and L3 Technologies Security Screening business. These acquisitions open the door for increased opportunities to enable client missions through hardware solutions, advanced defense R&D and enhanced capabilities including software development, artificial intelligence, sensor fusion, missiles, hypersonics, cyber solutions and space.

One of Leidos’ primary differentiators is its workforce’s ability to create innovative technology solutions to solve highly complex problems.  With a culture of innovation, fortified by deep mission knowledge, Leidos is committed to investing in critical internal research and development efforts in response to customers’ greatest challenges, working hard to deliver the next generation of agile, cohesive solutions necessary for today’s rapidly changing environment.

Why Watch:

Bender is keenly interested in ensuring customer relationships as a differentiated capability at Leidos.  He believes increased partnership and shared experiences between industry and government will serve to simultaneously shift more mission work to government contractors while also enhancing government’s ability to innovate and move fast.  He is steadfastly committed to working with both government customers and other best in class industry providers to develop highly-scalable, integrated platform approaches to meet government’s needs for mission effective and cost-efficient services and solutions.
