Roela Santos, chief marketing and communications officer at Science Applications International Corp., has won WashingtonExec’s 2020 Chief Officer Award for Public Company CMO.
In her acceptance speech, she praised other marketing and communications officers in the industry and congratulated ICF’s Matt Maurer, a fellow finalist.
“I have to say I’m really surprised,” Santos said of her award. “There are a lot of impressive communications and marketing leaders across our industry and in the D.C. area.”
Santos then thanked her team members for their contributions and support, referring to them as “the best, most fun” and “amazing” communications and marketing team.
“Thank you for building an environment where we can be creative, collaborative and innovative,” she said. “Thank you for your support and thank you for letting me be part of your team.”
