Technology solutions and business process provider Cognosante has appointed Bridget Gauer as the company’s senior vice president of strategy.

Gauer joins from the National Institutes of Health’s Information Technology Acquisition and Assessment Center. As its director, she set the strategic vision for the NIH GWAC program, which consists of three contract vehicles: CIO-SP3, CIO-SP3 Small Business and CIO-CS.

CEO and founder Michele Kang said Gauer has a strong track record in acquisition management at large federal agencies.

“She will be an excellent addition to our leadership team as she supports the company’s overall growth process from pursuit to execution,” Kang added.

Gauer has over 25 years of acquisition and leadership expertise. Prior to joining NITAAC, she served as the division director of contracts for the Health and Human Services’ assistant secretary of preparedness and response, and as acting director for the Acquisition Program Support Division with the Office of Acquisition Management, Contracts and Grants Office.

“I am incredibly excited to join Cognosante,” Gauer said. “This role provides an opportunity for me to apply my government and leadership experience in a new capacity while focusing on strategy and growth. Together with my colleagues, I look forward to supporting Cognosante’s mission and enhancing their relationships with additional government agencies.”
