Serco Inc. has appointed Tina Jonas to the board of its U.S. business effective July 1.
Jonas is an expert in military, defense and aerospace and brings 32 years of experience to the company. She currently serves as an independent consultant on several defense company boards. Jonas also works with the National Defense Industrial Association, the National Military Family Association and the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
Jonas has served as chief executive with UnitedHealthcare, a Fortune 14 company, as president of Logistics Health Inc. and as senior vice president of Optum Health.
She has also held executive positions in the aerospace and defense industry. From 2010 to 2012, Jonas was executive vice president of operations for PASSUR Aerospace, an intelligence and aviation company. From 2008 to 2010, she served as an operations executive with United Technologies, a Fortune 45 engineering and manufacturing company.
Jonas brings decades of leadership in the defense industry from both the public side and the private side, said Dave Dacquino, chairman and CEO of Serco Inc.
“She will bring valuable perspectives to our board as we strengthen Serco’s commitment to delivering mission-critical solutions for our customers,” he said.
Prior to her corporate experience, Jonas served in the federal government for more than 20 years. She held various leadership positions, including at the Defense Department, the FBI, the Office of Management and Budget and the House Appropriations Defense Subcommittee.
Jonas has received numerous awards for her work in the federal government, including the DOD Medal for Distinguished Public Service, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Joint Distinguished Civilian Service Award, the Department of the Navy Distinguished Public Service Award, the Army Distinguished Civilian Service Award, the Coast Guard Distinguished Public Service Award and the DOD Inspector General’s Award for Excellence.
