Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. announced its board of directors has elected Dave Wajsgras as a new independent director.
Wajsgras served as president of the Intelligence, Information and Services business of the former Raytheon Co., now part of Raytheon Technologies Corp. and previously was Raytheon’s senior vice president and chief financial officer.
“We are excited to welcome Dave to Martin Marietta’s Board of Directors,” said C. Howard Nye, chairman, president and CEO of Martin Marietta. “He is an experienced public company executive who is well-versed in financial and operating matters, technology transformation, and corporate governance. Dave’s expertise will provide us with valuable insight on matters critical to our business.”
Wajsgras fills the seat previously held by Stephen P. Zelnak, Jr., who retired after 27 years of board service. With the addition of Wajsgras and retirement of Zelnak, Martin Marietta’s 10-member board of directors consists of nine outside independent directors, six of whom have joined since 2016.
Wajsgras is a WashingtonExec Top 25 Execs to Watch in 2020 and last year also won the WashingtonExec Pinnacle Award for the Intelligence Industry Executive of the Year.
