Neustar has named Google’s Vice President of Global Product Partnerships Patrick Jabal as an independent, nonexecutive director to its board of directors.

Jabal has spent over two decades building products and growing technology businesses and today spearheads projects such as Google Search, Maps, Chrome and Assistant, said Stewart Bloom, board chairman and Golden Gate Capital operating executive.

Before Google, Jabal held general management positions at eBay Inc. He also co-founded TCI OEM Services, a PC component design firm and supplier, and Siteburst Inc., an enterprise software startup. He has an MBA from Harvard Business School.

“We could not be more pleased to add someone of Patrick’s caliber to our Board,” said Neustar President and CEO Charlie Gottdiener. “He will be focused on supporting our Marketing, Risk and Communications Solutions business units. As we continue to implement our strategy of being a leader in responsible identity resolution, we will be strengthening our strategic partnerships across those businesses, and Patrick’s considerable experience will be an invaluable asset.”

Jabal said he was excited about joining Neustar’s board of directors.

“I am very impressed with Neustar’s industry-leading technology and capabilities, specifically their OneID platform,” he said. “As digital connections increase in the world, there will be significant business opportunities for Neustar to benefit people and companies. I look forward to leveraging my background to help Neustar partner to enable and offer its technology solutions, responsibly, and at scale.”
