Not-for-profit research organization Riverside Research has appointed defense technology executive Jeff Druessel vice president of strategic development to help expand its customer base in defense and intelligence.
Druessel has more than 30 years of experience in defense and intelligence programs, most recently serving as senior director of the National Security Space Business Unit at L3Harris. His career began as a scientist and acquisition officer with the U.S. Air Force, also holding assignments with the Air Force Systems Command, the Air Force Research Laboratory and the National Reconnaissance Office.
After retiring from the Air Force, Druessel joined SAIC, where he developed solutions for the Defense Department and national intelligence community.
Riverside CEO Steve Omick said the organization is thrilled to have Druessel on the team.
“Jeff will be working with the rest of our Leadership Team to develop a strategy that combines our internally funded Open Innovation Concept (OIC), our top-notch staff, and our extensive facilities to address new mission areas and customers in the Defense and Intelligence markets,” Omick said.
Drussel has a bachelor of science in engineering physics degree from the University of Illinois, a master of science in systems management degree from the University of Southern California, and a master of science and a doctorate in engineering physics from the Air Force Institute of Technology.
