Mac Curtis, President and CEO, Perspecta
Mac Curtis leads a company of more than 14,000 people who help customers in the defense, intelligence, civilian, health care and state and local markets transform to digital environments, and secure, modernize and optimize their enterprises. And as Curtis reflects on 2019, there are several achievements of which he is most proud.
“The first would have to be the speed in which our company has come together,” he said. “Since day one, we’ve been focused on a rapid — yet effective and successful — integration. We’ve worked hard to establish an outcome-based culture built around mission and shared values.”
Early on, Perspecta’s unified workforce recognized the synergies of its integration, and over the last year, have come together to deliver the very best for its customers, Curtis explained.
Perspecta also met and exceeded all its financial obligations in its inaugural year, which ended March 31 — something Curtis is very proud of.
“These tangible results confirmed our staying power as a leader in combining enterprise IT and mission services to successfully serve the needs of the U.S. government and its citizens, and validated our team’s tireless hard work and unwavering commitment to our customers’ missions,” Curtis said.
And on July 31, Perspecta completed its first acquisition of Knight Point Systems. This deal further enhanced Perspecta’s offerings in cloud, cyber, digital transformation and enterprise IT, and integration is nearly complete.
Along with Perspecta’s mission-based culture, capabilities, innovation engine and ability to scale, its innovation and applied research hub, Perspecta Labs, helps the company stand out among its competitors.
“Through Perspecta Labs, we are able to provide transformative applied research to fuel solutions for our customers’ unique and complex challenges,” Curtis said. “But the real difference here is not the fact that we have an applied research lab — it’s that we invent real solutions, leveraging emerging technologies, to solve real problems and advance our customers’ missions.”
The company advocates for emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, machine learning and robotic process automation to continue advancing its customers’ missions. In fact, Perspecta was awarded the UiPath Impact Partner of the Year award in the public sector category for its work applying RPA as a central element of its digital delivery capability.
Why Watch:
Perspecta is preparing to complete its second fiscal year in March, and in 2020, has turned its focus from integrate to modulate.
“What that means is by being laser focused in our first year to get the big things right, we are now in a position to really hone in on the details required to continue building a company we can all be proud of,” Curtis said.
The company is in the middle of executing a long-term strategic plan that reaffirms the rationale behind the creation of its company and delivers successful outcomes for customers, employees and shareholders. Its strategic priorities center on cloud and IT transformation, cybersecurity, intelligent tools and analytics, trusted workforce and emerging markets.
Curtis is also dedicated to building a leadership team that listens to further develop and reinforce its unified culture, and become a top talent destination.
“We are well along the path of implementing initiatives and programs to meet the needs of our employees to support and ensure their success every day,” he said.
