Akima company Lockwood Hills and government service provider DTSV have won a joint venture contract with a potential 5-year period to provide visa support services to the State Department‘s Bureau of Consular Affairs.

The joint venture is called LDRM and has a total contract value of $388 million, if all options are exercised. LDRM will provide management, logistical and administrative support for the processing and adjudication of visa applications, as the State Department processes U.S. visas for foreign citizens to travel to the U.S.

Specifically, LDRM staff will help with the processing of visa applications that lead to permanent residence, and shorter-term visas for tourism, business, research and temporary work.

“We are excited to leverage our experience providing document review and processing services, as well as managing large-scale support services staff, to support this mission and while maintaining operational excellence,” said Don Laney, general manager of Lockwood Hills.

The visa support services work is primarily stationed at the National Visa Center in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and the Kentucky Consular Center in Williamsburg, Kentucky.
