Science, technology and strategy services provider Noblis has named retired Army Gen. Joseph L. Votel to its board of trustees.

As commander of the U.S. Central Command, Votel was responsible for the U.S. and coalition military operations in the Middle East, Levant and South Asia. In all, he spent 39 years in the military.

Votel is a strategic adviser for Sierra Nevada Corp., a distinguished non-resident at the Middle East Institute and the Belfer Center at the John F. Kennedy School of Government and an adviser to the Combating Terrorism Center. He was also announced as prospective president and CEO of Business Executives for National Security, effective January 2020.

“General Votel is regarded as one of our finest military minds,” said Amr ElSawy, president and CEO of Noblis. “His sterling record of accomplishments and service to our nation will help guide Noblis as we continue to provide innovative and forward-thinking technology services and solutions to advance our government clients’ missions in the public interest.”
