Michelle O’Hara, SAIC

Michelle O’Hara will begin working as the chief human resources officer at Science Applications International Corp., a company of 23,000, on Oct. 1.

O’Hara, currently human resources senior vice president, succeeds Karen Wheeler, who is retiring. O’Hara has more than 20 years experience in HR leadership, 10 of them at SAIC.

“Michelle is an impressive strategic leader for the HR team that is critical in our ability to recruit, retain and develop the best talent in the industry,” said SAIC CEO Nazzic Keene.

Wheeler has been in her current position since 2017 and plans to continue until Dec. 1 to help with the transition as the company completes the integration of Engility. She has been with SAIC for 24 years.

“I want to personally thank Karen for her leadership during the past two years of significant change for the company,” Keene said. “Her work with the HR team was pivotal to ensuring the team is well positioned for the future.”

O’Hara received her bachelor’s degree from The College of William and Mary and completed the Executive Education – Leadership program from Yale School of Management. She holds a Strategic HR Business Partner certification from the Human Capital Institute. SAIC Board Chair Donna Morea said the board is excited to have O’Hara move to her new position.

“She has the complete confidence of the SAIC board, Nazzic and the leadership team,” Morea said. “We look forward to working with her to ensure SAIC’s continued growth and market leadership, fueled by top talent.”
