AMERICAN SYSTEMS has been named a 2020 Military Friendly employer.

The recognition is the latest in a string of accolades recognizing the company’s efforts at being veteran friendly. Already a Virginia Values Veterans-certified company, the addition to the 2020 Military Friendly Employers list formally recognizes the company’s commitment to serving the military and veteran community.

“AMERICAN SYSTEMS is proud to support our nation’s military through our long-standing work in national priority programs,” said AMERICAN SYSTEMS President and CEO Peter Smith. “We are equally proud of the many men and women who have served our country and have chosen to ‘continue the mission’ at AMERICAN SYSTEMS.”

Military Friendly gave the company high marks for its culture and commitment as demonstrated by efforts such as its Servicemember Outreach And Referral program, an employee engagement platform aimed at veterans.

Almost half of the company’s new hires in 2018 have past military service.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS has also been recognized in the past with the 2018 V3 Breakthrough Award for Most Innovative Veteran Retention Program, the 2018 V3 MVP Award for Most Inspiring Workplace Culture for Veterans; U.S. Veterans Magazine Best of the Best in 2018 and 2019, and Military Times Best for Vets Employers in 2019.
